Suns news: Chris Paul reveals message from his son after poor Game 7 – ClutchPoints

Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns were embarrassed by the Dallas Mavericks at home in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Paul, the leader and floor general of the team, was seemingly off of his game for the majority of the series. Between a looming injury, retirement rumors, and unsightly fan interactions, there was not many storylines generated from quality Chris Paul performances.

The Suns’ star point guard has dealt with plenty of criticism from around the NBA world during the series. But CP3 did have reason to smile after the conclusion of Game 7.

Chris Paul stated in his postgame presser that his son texted him a motivational message after the game.

‘Let’s get in the gym.’

In the end, NBA players are human beings. Fans and media sometimes forget that they are more than walking stat lines and accolades. Chris Paul is surely disappointed right now, but at least he can ball up with his son.

Paul also announced in his postgame press conference that he will return next season. There were stirrings about a potential retirement for the veteran guard, but CP3 is not ready to call it quits just yet.

“We’ll be right back here next year,” Paul declared. “I’m not retiring.”

The Suns will look for revenge next season after being humiliated by Luka Doncic and the Mavs. Phoenix should be able to contend once again during the 2022-2023 campaign with Paul and Devin Booker leading the charge. However, the drama surrounding Deandre Ayton following Game 7 could prove to be problematic.

The Suns need to find a way to re-sign their star center if Chris Paul wants to earn his first ring next year.
