There have been teams putting out serious offensive output this season in the NHL.
Earlier this year, the Maple and Red Wings went head-to-head in a 10-7 slugfest. Then the Penguins became the first team in the salary cap era to score 11 goals in a single game.
On Tuesday night, the Capitals lit up the Flyers to the tune of 9-2 on national TV. Lars Eller potted two goals as he was one of eight different Capitals to find the back of the net.

A day later, the Avalanche put up a nine-spot on the Kings in a 9-3 beatdown. Nathan MacKinnon recorded a hat trick as Colorado picked up a franchise-record 53rd win on the year.
