He introduced himself on Married At First Sight as a ‘Dallas, Texas, born-and-raised stallion’ – but some viewers suspect Andrew Davis isn’t really from the U.S. at all.
Several fans are convinced the 39-year-old motivational speaker isn’t being honest about his upbringing in the Lone Star State, pointing out his shaky accent that at times slips between American and the ‘occasional Aussie twang’.
But despite their efforts to prove he’s an Australian in disguise, the conspiracy theory is actually nonsense, and there’s plenty of evidence showing he really is a Texan.
Is Married At First Sight’s ‘Mr America’ REALLY from Texas? Inside the wild theory that Andrew Davis (pictured) isn’t from the States as fans notice his ‘accent keeps dropping’ on screen
‘I’ve spent most of my time in the country. I grew up doing rodeo, wrestling and on a farm – very country, very Texas,’ the father of one, who is paired with Holly Greenstein on the show, said in his introductory video.
However, sceptical viewers weren’t buying his backstory, with one tweeting: ‘Andrew’s accent is like listening to my 12-year-old self in drama school. Yee-haw.’
‘Texan accent with the occasional Aussie twang,’ another added.
After Andrew criticised Holly’s skills in the bedroom during an honesty-box challenge, one viewer tweeted: ‘Buckle up, Holly. Andrew has already given you the brutal honesty disclaimer. Maybe he’ll explain why his accent keeps dropping?’
‘Andrew can storm back to Bairnsdale [Victoria] and drop the fake accent with relief,’ another wrote, after he walked out of the couple’s apartment.

When Andrew later told his wife he wasn’t prepared to start a family with her, one fan remarked: ‘If these producers knew Holly wanted a baby and old mate hybrid accent did not and still matched them up, that’s absolutely appalling.’
Despite his doubters, Andrew is indeed a fully fledged Texan.
His since-deleted LinkedIn profile confirms he attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, from 2000 to 2004, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing.

He went on to complete a similar degree at the University of North Texas from 2004 to 2008.
Andrew was employed a teacher and coach at Birdville High School in North Richland Hills, Texas, for five years before being hired as a marketing director at Fit Supply in Irving, Texas, in 2014.
His LinkedIn profile states he then became the owner and head trainer at Prime Training in Sydney’s Waterloo in 2017, which corroborates his backstory that he moved Down Under after finding love with an Aussie woman in his home state.
‘I fell in love with a girl in Texas that was from Australia. We got married the first week I was here,’ he said on MAFS, describing his most recent failed marriage.
While the relationship didn’t work out, the exes amicably co-parent a two-year-old daughter, whom Andrew describes as ‘the love of my life’.

He has remained in Australia ever since, and it’s normal for someone who has lived Down Under for five years to develop a slight twang.
Andrew, who claims to have slept with 350 women, has certainly ruffled feathers during his time on Married At First Sight so far.
He shamed his wife Holly for her performance in the bedroom last week, saying he’d had ‘better one-night stands’ after they consummated their marriage.
Holly asked her American husband during an honesty-box challenge: ‘Do you feel any sexual chemistry with me?’

Taking a minute to think about his response, Andrew responded: ‘Holly, I enjoy sex. I enjoy sex all the time. I enjoy it in random places, at random times.’
‘I know I have the right equipment and I feel like I know how to use that. But I feel like when we were intimate you weren’t there,’ he added.
‘You were not physically there. I didn’t feel intimacy. I didn’t feel connected to you, so it wasn’t enjoyable for me. If I am being completely honest with you.
‘I’ve had one-night stands where the partner was more into me than you were into me. If I just wanted to get off I could just do that by myself.’
The couple aren’t expected to last much longer in the experiment and Andrew has already indicated he wants to leave.
Married at First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine and 9Now
